Testimonial
‘We wanted a professional a logo for our popular site Pharmacy in Practice. We chose Gavin at Dose Design and Marketing because we knew that as a pharmacist he would instinctively understand our needs better than anyone else. We had also seen his work on other projects and we were very impressed. Gavin took time to understand what we do, why we do it, our ethos, our ambitions and what we wanted from a logo. He created a logo that spoke to our Scottish roots, clearly identified our brand and was also very nice to look at — all important features for us. He was great to work with, communicated clearly throughout the process and we very much look forward to working with him again.’

The team at Pharmacy In Practice contacted us to design a new logotype for their pharmacy news organisation. With ambitious plans for their growing platform the logotype needed to herald a new stage in their development and a commitment to providing professional, quality content to their dedicated and growing readership. You can read a little more about their plans in their own words here.
Following conducting some interesting brand research we developed a wide range of concepts refining two for review by our client. As often happens they liked both but following further discussion the decision was made and here it is.
The concept utilises the blue of the Scottish flag subtly placing the organisation North of the border without being overtly Scottish and restricting potential opportunities to develop in a range of ways and geographies in the future. The green cross represents pharmacy and its position in the middle of the word practice places pharmacy literally in practice. Pharmacy In Practice. Simple.
Typography was kept bold, confident and modern and was carried through to the icon which creates a highly legible symbol at a range of sizes. Perfect for what we put little icons through.
A range of illustrations were provided to demonstrate how the logotype and icon might be used on key digital properties and a full range of files for both digital and print were provided. In fact we got a little carried away with this one and designed a website header and twitter header graphic made to measure.
