Testimonial
‘In planning our Development Day DOSE really listened to what it was as a leadership team we wanted to achieve, and why; he then channelled our thoughts and ambitions into a well-structured plan. Facilitating the day, Gavin gave us ownership, helping to draw out the key themes from the committee members, allowing us to move forwards with a shared vision and strategy.’
Kath Gulson, Chief Officer, Community Pharmacy Lancashire
The team at Community Pharmacy Lancashire are well known for their achievements over recent years and have successfully represented community pharmacy contractors at a local level. With changes in the profession, commissioning landscape, politics and leadership the time was right for a review of the existing direction of travel, focus of work and approach to delivery.
DOSE were asked to work with the leadership team to help them review the existing strategy, how it was implemented and by whom and to plan a development day for the committee which introduced the new thinking and engaged committee members.
We spent time understanding the goals and statutory role of the committee in detail and combining this with our understanding of the wider context of pharmacy. We explored the background of the work to date and building on the leadership teams work, helped to define a new strategic structure with clear goals, workstreams and accountability for the near, middle and distant future.
At this point in the project we were surprised and delighted to be asked to facilitate the committee development day itself and hence set to work producing a full set of presentation materials outlining the content for the day including a range of ways to engage the committee. Further collaborative work with the leadership team saw delivery of key messages assigned to specific people and the integration of three external speakers.
Finally, Gavin Birchall, DOSE Design MD facilitated the development day itself from beginning to end and supported the team to achieve their goals for the day. It was a very inspiring day and we are proud to have been involved and enjoyed meeting some fantastic people working hard to promote community pharmacy across Lancashire.
